1 Purpose

This policy defines the terms and conditions under which a software development project may be canceled by the client or the development team. It aims to protect the interests of both parties, ensuring clear communication and fair compensation for work completed up until the point of cancellation. This policy applies to all software development projects undertaken by MARV Softwares India Pvt. Ltd., for clients, including custom software development, websites, mobile applications, and other digital solutions.

2 Grounds for Cancellation

  • Client Cancellation: The client may cancel the project at any time before its completion, for any reason, including but not limited to:
    • Change in business direction or priorities.
    • Budget constraints.
    • Dissatisfaction with progress or quality of work.
  • Development Team Cancellation: The development team may cancel the project if:
    • The client fails to meet agreed-upon deliverables or deadlines.
    • The client fails to provide necessary resources, information, or feedback.
    • There are unresolved legal or ethical issues that prevent the continuation of work.
    • The scope of work exceeds the initial agreement, and an agreement on new terms cannot be reached.

3 Cancellation Procedure

  • Client-Initiated Cancellation: To initiate cancellation, the client must provide written notice (via email or formal letter & mention the proposal ID) to MARV Softwares. The notice must include the reason for cancellation and the preferred termination date.
  • Team-Initiated Cancellation: If the development team initiates the cancellation, the team will notify the client in writing, outlining the reasons for the cancellation and providing a timeframe for termination.

4 Conclusion

This Software Project Cancellation Policy is designed to ensure clarity and fairness in the event that a project needs to be terminated. Both parties agree to adhere to these terms as outlined above, and any changes or exceptions must be made in writing and agreed upon by both parties.
